The Minnesota Vikings have re-signed restricted free agent fullback Naufahu Tahi. The Vikings said Tahi signed his contract tender on Tuesday. The fifth-year veteran has been primarily a blocker for running back Adrian Peterson and a special teams player with the Vikings. Tahi caught 10 passes for 67 yards and a touchdown out of the backfield.

The Minnesota Vikings have re-signed restricted free agents Ryan Cook, Fred Evans and Eric Frampton. Evans is a key backup at defensive tackle behind starters Kevin and Pat Williams. He will earn almost $1.8 million after signing the second-round tender the team placed on him. Cook is a swing player on the offensive line, with the ability to play guard, center and tackle.

While the Vikings continue to wait for Brett Favre to decide if he will return for the 2010 season, they evidently have lost out on the opportunity to get Donovan McNabb as his possible successor.

At least for the short term.

McNabb, who is being shopped by Philadelphia, reportedly has told the Eagles that if he is going to be traded his first choice was to play for the Vikings.

This makes sense because of McNabb’s familiarity with Vikings coach Brad Childress and quarterbacks coach Kevin Rogers.

McNabb and Childress arrived in Philadelphia in 1999—Childress was the Eagles’ quarterbacks coach and later offensive coordinator—and McNabb knows Rogers very well from their time together at Syracuse.
