There are some easter eggs and characters that tie back to the first two games. If you've played them, it will be good for a chuckle (in the case of easter eggs) or add some emotional impact (in the case of the charcters). Tyrael and Deckard Cain were key characters -- especially in D2. If you've played D2, the cutscene at the end of Act 1 will blow your mind.

An example of one of the little "throwaway" jokes: Back in D2, you had to cary a shitload of scrolls of town portal (blue ribbon) and identify (red ribbon). You don't need those in D3, thankfully. When you click on a bookshelf in any dungeon, a bunch of those scrolls come tumbling out.

So is the Skeleton King pretty much impossible to beat solo?

I've done him solo, but it wasn't easy. He's a surprisingly difficult boss based on the level you're at when you encounter him. Domo and I will be on tonight if you want us to lend a hand with our lower level characters.

Had this in my hands last night and put it back on the shelf. Still can't believe I did that.

I figured it's a matter of time for you.

And I probably won't be on tonight, at least not around then but perhaps tomorrow Clemmer we can hook up.

Once you guys start getting into the game, I recommend you do an internet search on Whimsyshire, the hidden level in the game.

There was a hidden level in D2 (The Cow King) that wasn't nearly as difficult to unlock where you get some really amazing loot drops. Whimsyshire is similar in terms of crazy awesome loot drops, but in a sugary, cartoon, rainbows & unicorns type of world. It's supposed to be wicked hard to gather all of the "ingredients" you need to unlock it, but Domo and I have gathered 5 of the 6 elements. From what I've read, it's worth the effort.

So Domo and I got the necessary ingredients to get to Whimsyshire last night. It is definitely crazy -- like if My Little Pony, The Care Bears, and The Manson Family had a baby. Based on the first run, I wasn't blown away by the loot drops. It kind of seems like it drops really great stuff for characters in their teens and 20s (and you need to be at least a 30 to try to play Whimsyshire), but that means that it could ge a great source of gear for alts or people on your friend's list with lower level characters.

Rabb - I found a voodoo mask that you will probably like quite a bit and that I can give to you the next time you're on.

You really gotta start playing this in MP, bro. That's where this game shines.
