Diablo III?

Anybody get it? I hear it's great but some people have had pc issues with it.

No chance of it running on my laptop.

The install was a mess. It stuck on 93%, so I stopped it. Well, I closed it...there's no clear cut cancel for this. Then, I tried to uninstall. I bombed on me. So, I tried to reinstall...and it bombed. So, I rebooted.

Guess what...when I put in the disk to reinstall, it asked if I wanted to play. After all that mess, I find it actually fully installed. However, I get an error there because I find that you have to go online to enter your key BEFORE you install, so your Battle.net account is linked to the game. Which is probably why the install acted stupid. After doing that, I was playing just fine. It's fun, but this stupid DRM they use which requires you to always be on the internet to play the fucking single player game makes it a pain in the ass from the start.

Gameplay was actually smooth from there, though. I do like how it seems they put your character and progress on a cloud, so you can play between multiple PCs and keep with the same game/characters.

Interesting...

I started an install at lunch on my laptop, and it asked if I verified my battle.net account with the game code. It didn't ask that last night. So, either there was a new update to the setup files today, or something screwed up the updated setup files that the installer retrieved last night.

I think I waited on Diablo 2 until they got to the 6th patch. I don't regret that I waited and will follow a similar strategy with D3.

I'm really loving the game. It's the mindless hack-and-slash loot-fest that kept me playind Diablo 2 for 10 years.

I sent FRs to both Fuzz and Johnny. I currently have a level 18 monk and a level 9 wizard chick. I'm really looking forward to getting into a 3 or 4 player game, as the skills/attacks seem really complimentary. So much of the joy of this game comes from the epic carnage that comes from a coordinated attack on a mob.
