Talk about movies and TV...errrrr

Watched the Hunger Games movie. I like the take they did from President Snow's perspective. I also like the style of the movie, though the jittery camera was a bit overdone, especially since I had to sit in the front... a little discombobulating at times.

Rental Thread

Postby houdinisangel » April 8th, 2012, 1:53 am

Watched the Tower Heist last night on rental from Red Box. After watching the film I selected alternate ending and the TV displayed a message "This is a rental version of the film and therefore only includes the feature film. To enjoy the bonus features please purchase the DVD or BlueRay version of the film"

That is bullshit. I still had to sit through 30 minutes of film previews but I guess those were included in the feature film as well including the 1 Apr 12 advertisement for WWE.

Sigh

Watched Super. Pretty friggin cool/funny movie (and violent!) It has Rainn Wilson (Dwight Shrute!) Kevon Bacon, Liv Tyler, Ellen Page, Nathan Fillion, and Michael Rooker (Merle!)

It's about Dwight becoming a super hero (with no powers) that bashes people with a pipe wrench after his wife leaves him for a drug dealer. Eventually Ellen Page becomes his sidekick (She's a friggin psycho!) Kind of like Hit Girl from Kick Ass all grown up :)

btw, the girl from Hunger games was in Winter's Bone. Its a depressing movie about meth addiction... I liked it though. A good showcase of rural poverty which doesn't always get its just due compared with urban poverty.

I watched Goon last night. I liked it a lot. I'm not sure, but it may hold the record in the number of F-bombs per minute for any movie.

Watched " The Girl w/ the Dragon Tattoo" yesterday. Movie was two and a half hours long but I liked it. The freaky chick was looking good with the blonde wig, some eyebrows and makeup.

Watched God Bless America. A movie written and directed by Bobcat Goldthwait. It's about a guy diagnosed with a brain tumor who decides to start killing reality "stars" and otherwise rude/asshole-ish people. Along the way, he's joined by some crazy high school chick who saw him kill a reality star brat and thought it was awesome.

I heard she's really big in Belgium. You liked it? I read the first two books and wasn't sure if it'd make sense without reading.

I'm midway through the third book. I can't wait to finish them all up then jump into the movies (US and foreign versions).

I did want to check out the foreign films but wanted to wait until I was done with the 3rd book. Just gotta wait until I'm done with night class. One more month. I have these books, the last hunger games, and now the song of fire and ice books.

I didn't read the book(s) but I wish I had prior to seeing it pepper, I felt like there was a lot I missed or just didn't get.

One thing that i think you'll either love or hate about this series is the meticulous level of detail he goes into at times. I had a few moments where I said to myself "we get it-enough already". There are almost stories inside of stories but overall I've loved this series.

Agreed. It gets to be a little overwhelming at times.

Watched 'The Darkest Hour', the one where these group of kids were over in Moscow when an alien invasion begins to take place. It was very meh at best.
