Tiger 13

Loving this game so far. No more percentage of power recommendations, so if you need 88 yards to the stick and your club has a 110 yard max you have to swing accordingly. Makes it do much more real. Definitely use the caddie if you are out of practice with this game.

I thought I'd start out on Pro Tour (hard) because I've always been pretty good... had to go down. The swing meter is tough, but like DFS said, its much more realistic and you really have to get a feel for control of the tempo and power. I have to "make" room for my swing I think when trying the Kinect... it didn't always read my swing and I chunked the ball a number of times. Just like real golf I got pissed during putting and four putted because I would just address the ball with a screw it attitude and putt back and forth.

Also, I created a Tailgate Clubhouse and sent out invites.

So is the Kinect function more just a gimmick you would try out once or twice but use the controller when you really want to play?

I have to set it up with more room. I should be able to do that tonight. I do like the feel of it, but there were some swing issues (I also was playing on hard) that may have been associated with my kinect being too close (I've had issues with other games). Putting is a little goofy with using your arm to line it up, but I have a technique that seems to help it.

I still need to know if I was tanking shots because of the sensor, my tempo (I have a tendency to grip and rip), etc. I'd want to read some reviews about the actual kinect swing mechanic because I am unsure. Will keep you posted.

Tiger 13

My quick impression from the demo at least that it was a bit gimmicky and not really a realism thing.

I read a couple of reviews. The Game Shark one seems pretty close. He mentions putting, which gets better with some time. However, the swing mechanic (controller) is touchy and will take more time to get used to than the grip and rip of the past. The Kinect detection appears to have issues at times, more so at higher difficulty and it sounds like they don't really address why the ball gets mishit or not... like he mentions, a patch would be nice to address some of the issues. So it sounds like my issues with hitting aren't necessarily associated with me being too close. I'll try it on normal and see if it works better... or maybe even dip to easy for starters.

Daddy, I will try and get on tonight. We should try to play a round. I played later last night and am definitely getting better. Its still pretty tough, even on pro. Especially with your skills so low and not using the badges or whatever. btw, you know if you can use xp points to buy more? I'm not sure how that system works.

im not sure. I have been playing with custom settings with no swing meter/caddie/putt preview and tour pro difficulty and that actually multiplies the xp after every game. Also I use my guy online and a lot of other people are too since its a new game. I think the coins are how you buy more pins though. I have not used the kinect so far as I have only played the first 2 courses on amateur tour and the rest I have been online.

Pepper, set up a country club tourney and lets try that out since you can have flex scheduling.

Dude, I wish you lived nearby. I'm in a flood plain and you could be my sump pump master. In return, I'd show you how to use those new clubs properly...lol.

This thing is trying to suck cash out of me... trying to resist extra courses... Also, DFS, I need back in. I should have known trying to join a club would be epic fail, but whatever... I guess it was worth a shot. I was thinking it'd be nice to try and get in a decent sized clubhouse, idk. You get into public shit and it turns into a mess.
