NFL Draft/Combine/Offseason Chatter

I can not believe the Jaguars did not jump all over Tebow which would help boost poor attendance.

I am not convinced they still won't to be honest, the more I look at this deal I don't see it being good at ALL for the Jets and I wouldn't be shocked if they flip him.

Of course like I told rayray, this could be Rex and his ego hard at work too...this is the worst thing for that team IMO. The media circus, Sanchez will have less confidence...shit this could destroy 2 QB careers in one town!

Best comment I saw:

That’s technically a longer suspension than Michael Vick got for federal gambling charges, Ben Roth got for 2 rape accusations, and Bellicheck got for ACTUALLY CHEATING. Goodell has lost it, if he ever had it to begin with.

I think it's just a case of making an example of someone as a deterrent, taken to a radical extreme. Since the scuttlebutt is most of the teams do it, this is a quick way to put a stop to it league-wide. Not that I agree with the severity of the penalty. In fact I read the GM was suspended for the entire season, not just 8 games. That's fuckin ridiculous.

Personally I believe paying someone to cause an injury that knocks a player out of a game is too much. I don't agree with all of the 'player protection' rules, but it doesn't take too much common sense to realize that promoting injuries is a shitty idea. I don't see any problem with rewarding for good hits, or big game plays, but injuries? C'mon.

edit: sorry I guess it was the head coach suspended for the whole season, GM for only 8 games.

I thought this was pretty big news

Panicked Redskins Send Another Couple First-Round Picks To St. Louis Just To Make Sure

WASHINGTON—Mere days after sending the St. Louis Rams three first-round picks and a second-round selection in exchange for the second pick of the 2012 NFL Draft, the Washington Redskins took steps to ensure they would be able to sign Heisman Trophy–winning quarterback Robert Griffin III and sent the Rams another pair of first-round picks "just to be absolutely sure." "We have to take steps to protect the future of this organization," Redskins owner Daniel Snyder said Monday, adding that he would also consider throwing in tight end Chris Cooley, Washington’s best offensive player, and $1.4 million in cash if it helped to "make super sure" his team gets the pick. "And the way I see it, giving all our future draft picks away is the best long-term plan for the Redskins, especially since we don't have any money." As of press time, Rams officials said they had filed the paperwork to transfer the draft pick, but that having Redskins linebacker Brian Orakpo "couldn't hurt the process.
