PSU Football deserves the Death Penalty

Postby SteelMiner » November 7th, 2011, 1:52 pm

After reading the PA Attorney General's indictment of the PSU/ Jerry Sandusky case, as well as many news reports on the subject it seems to me that the NCAA Death Penalty should be issued.

That the AD as well as the VP in charge of the campus police helped in the cover-up just screams lack of institutional control.

Mike McQuery, who was the GA who reported the 2002 shower incident after calling his Dad and follwing his instructions to leave the Lasch building, then waited a day to tell Joe Paterno about the incident. How could you just leave a kid to be raped like that? Even if you were so stunned by what you were seeing how could you not at least call the police?

Then there is Joe "Pontius Pilate" Paterno who told the AD the next day and washed his hands of it. After the 1998 incident how could you let the man continue to have an office in the Lasch Building let alone still run youth PSU football camps?

Children were sacrificed in the name of keeping a Football Program's image. Everyone needs to be fired for this including Joe Paterno, two years no football and then start fresh with no of the old staff permitted to rejoin the program.

Lives were destroyed over this and the NCAA needs to act on this now.

Pretty much agree with you on all points.

It's one of those situations like you read about with priests getting reassigned where you say, how could any human hear about shit like this and willingly cover it up. Things must look different from the inside, I don't know.

I think I have to agree. I heard this story Sunday morning in the car and was filled with rage. They need to go after this entire program and burn it to the ground. I understand things get covered up in major college sports but this is SEXUAL ASSAULT OF A MINOR.

I just put myself into the same situation where I am aware that a coach is raping boys in the shower, and I can't really imagine any situation where I'd agree to cover that shit up. Lose my job, name dragged through the mud as a whistleblower--at least I'm still a human being who deserves to walk upon this earth.

i just re-read that last post and it should probably start with 'i just imagine putting myself in the same situation' etc etc etc

NYT is reporting that PSU's board is working on JoPa's departure, which they are saying will occur in "days or weeks". Every day he stays makes me lose a little more respect for him.

If what they said happened really did...I have no respect left for him anyway.

Its rape. Seriously, do people cover things like that up to protect image? wth? I guess I truly don't understand people. Those that cover it up are almost as bad as the perp. Any why? So PSU doesn't get a bad rep? As mentioned above... this isn't someone harming themselves or having issues, this is the intentional harm of numerous other people that will have issues for the rest of their lives and will never have a chance to have a "normal" life because of what this guy did and those that allowed him to continue.

Joe Paterno needs to go now, not in a few days or weeks, if he had any decency left he would have resigned the day the indictment report was released.

Here's an article interviewing two of the victims mothers from the Harrisburg Patriot News http://www.pennlive.com/midstate/index.ssf/2011/11/mothers_of_two_of_jerry_sandus.html

Here's a link about Paterno and another victim now coming forward on rivals.com

I think it's obvious now that JoPa is and has been more concerned with his record than with anything else at the university.

At least Paterno is keeping it classy and admitting he fucked up at the pep rally at his house last night

“And I want you!” Paterno said. “It’s hard for me to tell you how much this means to me. You guys have lived for this place. I’ve lived for people like you guys and girls. I’m just so happy to see that you feel so strongly about us and about our school. And as I said, I don’t know if you heard me or not, is, you know, the kids who were victims or whatever they want to say, I think we all ought to say a prayer for them. It’s a tough life when people do certain things to you. But anyway, you've been great. You’ve been really great.”

Really, it's tough when someone in a position of authority takes advantage of you to rape you in a fucking shower? Who knew? Thanks Joe for setting it straight! And good job on the 'whatever they want to say', you piece of shit.

The rally to support Joe & his quote in response to it shows why PSU football needs the Death Penalty. They've lost sight of what has happened to those kids. Happy Valley? more like Jonestown.

What's even more maddening, Cowherd hit it perfectly. Sandusky can rape boys on campus and NCAA can't touch him but if he buys a recruit a shirt they are in deep shit.
