CoD offering Double XP for the first time ever

In what surely has NOTHING to do with the fact that BF3 just released, Infinity Ward has announced that they are offering double xp across the MW franchise, and if you prestige in any of them you will get a prestige token that is redeemable in MW3. Even though the vid linked below says weekend of October 27th, Xbox is saying that it runs from 10 a.m. PST this Friday, Oct. 28, through 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 1.

Maybe it's just the Modern Warfare titles and not WaW being first time ever.

I know the first MW as well as BLOPS had double xp

who knows, cool either way (I am still playing BF3)

I don't know, all the news sites are saying first time ever and the IW dude in the video also said it was. I haven't played them for years, never was double for me when I had them.

IW did MW 1&2, I am fairly positive that Treyarch has always done XP stuff....I am 100% positive that W@W and BLOPS had it so maybe I am wrong on the first MW. They must mean MW specific, not CoD.

Cod4 had 1, maybe 2 Double XP events. W@W had it like every other fucking week, it was crazy. MW2 had double XP in April 2010. And Blops has had it several times

So ummmm.....since I have prestiged several times over the last few COD titles does that mean it will recognize that and give me the tokens or am I suppose to roll prestige this weekend ('cos you know that ain't happening) in order to get it?

Also, we need to start taking up a collection so Brains will have this game on day 1.
