Paid off my pre-order today. Tried to talk zit-boy at the register into handing it over since I know they have it. No love.

Just wondering thoughts about this. I've played for a little bit. I enjoy it, but absolutely love the wheel now. Took awhile to get used to it, but I have a hard time just running the controller anymore. Lotus... you run Monday night fun runs yet? I might be able to get some racing in... trying to make sure I spend enough time on class though.

We've been doing Monday nights, yeah. This Monday the already-announced race will be F-class on the full Top Gear track, 8 laps.

I'm usually late to the party, but hit up any of the guys or just join in. It usually starts up between 8:30-9:00. And if you can use that damn wheel you're a better driver than I am. It's fun sometimes but I completely suck at driving with that thing. I love the feedback and resistance it gives, it's pretty realistic. I guess I just need to practice more.

I have the Microsoft one. Got the show model for half price from BestBuy. Still was able to get the warranty... which was good, because one of my kids broke one of the shift levers. You have to tweak it some (and I turn down the vibration quite a bit) to get it to match the driver's hands, but once you get the hang of it, its well worth it. However, I have issues with my headset (some feedback at times, and a minor hum) and bought some different ones that I run through my receiver. A cheap pair of Turtles, but they work nice.

I haven't tried that new speed wheel thing but I would think it would be a little squirrelier than the big one just because it's not mounted to anything. I really like the big one when I'm just screwing around but it is a disaster if I try to use it in a real MP race.

I am thinking of asking for one for Christmas. The wireless one doesn't seem bulky but you use triggers on the wheel over pedals.

I'll check out the Forza forum on 2old for you. That wireless one seems a little nuts. I'll see what the experts say. I like the old one, but its a lunker. You only have to plug it into an outlet though, its wireless to the box. and lotus, its not so bad once you get used to it, though, the game makes a great case for not drinking and driving. If you have cocktails, use the controller.

Not sure if they are still making the older one.

I'm sure we can arrive at a trade of some kind for mine.

Reviews sound pretty good from what I saw. Not really much to choose from though. PS has more options, that's for sure.

Yeah, any car you want and there will be guys on from about 8:30 EST on. It's usually Dawnfades (aka Steelminer) hosting it up but tonight it might be zorbs or gwild0r or Bombshell McGee (aka Tim, Burgoon or Loverboy Tim). I probably won't get there until after 9:00. We had a good room of 8 or 9 last week.
