I'm going with the Hogan hand to ear move.

I'm going to predict 13-3 for the Packers. Though they were only 10-6 last year, I don't believe they lost a game by more than 4 points and two of their losses were in overtime. If they stay healthy, they should be able to knock out 3 more wins this year.

Because, you know, they're really talented.

Packers 12-4. Opening weekend loss at home to the Saints which will freak fans out, but a nice run until early October with a loss at Atlanta to put them at 3-2. Another run until Thanksgiving where Detroit actually shows up and puts forth a great effort on Thanksgiving... 8-3. I feel they will run the table to the end of the year, which I know puts them at 13-3, but there is always that one TV puncher where a team doesn't show up and gets beat by a sleeper. I'm thinking that St. Louis might be that one... or towards the end of the season on the road in NYG or KC.

The Packers will be able to stay close in every game, but also need to develop a closer's mentality which damn near kept them out of the playoffs last year. Too many times they jumped out to leads and got overly conservative which let teams back in it, only to hang on by the skin of their teeth. Obviously, there's very little to complain about. I like the draft picks (like always) and resigning of key veterans. Its amazing how the Thompson haters have disappeared, considering it was around 75% or more of the fan base. I actually tried to find a blog article I wrote defending him years back, but Sporting News changed their format and I can't. Oh, well... not really that big a deal.

A few predictions...

Ryan Grant will get fewer and fewer carries as Starks will start to shine at rb. Grant will be gone sooner rather than later.

Randall Cobb will provide special teams explosiveness the team has been lacking overall in returns for years and make a few big catches making James Jones expendable next year as he increases his role to the number 3... depending on how long Driver continues to defy his age.

Alex Green will emerge as the 3rd down back as long as he can prove he can pick up blitzes...

DJ Williams (mostly) (but along with a plethora of the other TEs behind Finley) will allow the Packers to run even more double tight formations to provide a crazy amount of offensive sets to go along with full house backfield and wr packages. This may be the best offensive talent the Packers have ever had. They will break the Packer single season record for points scored... beating the previous record of 461.

Defensively, Morgan Burnett will emerge with numerous blow up hits at safety after a big return from injury last year where he showed he has the potential to be a big playmaker. Matthews will command more double teams, but the opposite side OLBs will step up and record over 10 sacks combined. Desmond Bishop will also emerge as a stud for the ILB and garner Pro Bowl considerations, though will lose out to higher profile names.

The OL and DBs remain a concern due to being the thinnest positions. Besides Rodgers, though Flynn showed he's a more than capable backup, these areas can not afford serious injury to key starters. The db position has continually improved though and is starting to be less of a concern. On that note, Woodson is going to play more and more nickelback to cover his declining skills and allow him to blitz more from the inside CB position since he can still tackle and has tremendous instincts... which is affordable as long as Sam Shields continues to develop.
