Thanks that is perfect, now I see some listed as indoor or outdoor...would a normal indoor decent one realistically work anywhere?

i would think indoor would be stronger than outdoor but I'm not sure. actually to be honest i have no idea whatsoever. we have one indoor in the living room that works well, and in the bedroom for some reason in order to get a good signal we had to buy a powered one.

It doesn't necessarily matter whether or not it's an HD set, only that it has a digital tuner, which is basically all you can buy today. As for the antenna, most of them now are directional. You can actually go online and find out where the towers are in your area so you can point your antenna at it for the best signal. That's basically how you'd have to set it up at home anyway. In this case I would think it would be pretty straightforward since you're trying to choose one specific broadcast and not trying to find the best compromise point to get all channels.

Whether it's indoor or outdoor just depends on whether you plan to tailgate in the snow.

ours are not directional. they are these flat rectangles that we hang up on the wall next to the tv set. They also came with a stand that you can use to tastefully display it on a table or other flat surface.
