Go Colonials

With no NFL news, the big news here in CT is Jerry Glanville replacing Chris Palmer as the team's UFL coach. Yes football has become this sad...

A writer on Yahoo was talking about the possibility of some of the more cash strapped players going to play for the UFL, since without a CBA the players can technically all be free agents for another league. I wonder if some players may do this in a union based move to prove the NFL is more about players from a fan's perspective than the league wants to admit.

Oh, and I saw on Twitter that Marty Schottenheimer is the front runner for the Virginia franchise.

Couple of practice squad guys have already jumped to the AFL. Have not seen anybody from the regular roster make a move yet, though.

IF it happens...I don't see it happening until late, and the players are certain that there won't be a 2011 season.

If there isn't a certainty that the 2011 season is lost, I just don't see it happening.

If it's also the 3rd and 4th string guys making the change, they may be hesitant since I assume the $25K fee they have to pay to quit UFL and go to NFL would still be in effect.

In fact, this might be the only thing that keeps the UFL from going tits up financially this year.

It could be interesting if guys on the 2 deep start going, because this will be the first time that a league on strike has had competition in the US. The only other option for striking players was out of country before this.

I don't know if I'd want this to happen or not...if it does, and the UFL is successful, then the players get the power. And the fan will be out of the equation even more. I want both sides to fall on their faces if they take football away from me this year.

Is that the league where chicks in lingerie play football?
