After hearing all the pre-game shows bash the Shannies, somwewhat deservedly, I am a bit dissapointed in the coverage on how BAD McNabb has played. He is playing worse than Jason Campbell who is fighting for a starting job against Bruce Gradcowski (sp). Really? I would have benched him before the 2 min mark and handled it better I hope, but D-Mac needed to be called out a couple of games ago. Our defense which is ranked last in yards against, has won 3 of the 4 wins. Unless he picks it up I hope D-MAc is gone next year. Andy Ried was not scared to trade him inside the division to start a kid who played 3 games, that says alot I think.

The whole situation has been handled badly and I think the Shannies are holding back for McNAbb's sake and getting blasted for it.

Is there any chance you guys don't draft a QB?

Yes but the type of celestial alignment it would take would probably mean we wouldn't have to worry about the CBA because the apocolypse would be upon us.

Or we pick up Vick.

The way McCoy looks today they don't need him, but I would rather see him there than in DC. Dog killers not welcome.

D-Mac, 5 year 80M (40M gar.) extension.

Wow, I was hoping to sign him to an extension if it only meant we got something if we traded him to Min. or Arizona. That is too much money gauranteed to do that though. He is a skin for at least three years now. 13.3/year is not to outlandish at todays rate and I am sure we are dumping a big part of that this year to save against the cap. But after dumping that kinda dough he ain't leaving soon, and better pick up his game.

This doesn't seem to make much sense.

I am trying to think of a positive here and can't do it. He is playing average right now, if not below average, is 34, and has a history of injuries. We cannot trade him now, unless we dump a big portion of that 40 mil this year (which Bruce Allen likes to do) but then you are obligated to keep him. 3 years at least IMO. This may have pushed our having to take a QB in the 1st round another year but I am not a fan of this move at all... right now.

At least Bruce Allen is still on his game. It doesn't look like the 40 million is all that garuanteed.

Per ESPN:

So in essence, the Redskins paid McNabb $3.75 million in 2010 for the right to pay him $12.5 million in 2011 and control his rights. If the Redskins cut him after this season or trade him, they are only on the hook for the $3.75 million.Boiled down, the deal's real guarantee is $3.5 million, though if McNabb suffered a catastrophic injury this season and never played again, he would receive $25 more million.

Here is how the rest of the full deal breaks down, according to an NFLPA source:

• 2010: $3.5 million signing bonus/$250,000 if active eight games

• 2011: $10 million option bonus/$2.5 million salary/$750,000 if active 16 games/$250,000 workout/$2 million possible playoff incentives

• 2012: $12.75 million salary/$750,000 if active 16 games/$250,000 workout/$2 million possible playoff incentives

• 2013: $13 million salary/$1.5 million if active 16 games/$250,000 workout/$2 million possible playoff incentives

• 2014: $13.75 million salary/$3 million if active 16 games/$250,000 workout/$2 million possible playoff incentives

• 2015: $13.55 million salary/$2.25 million if active 16 games/$250,000 workout/$2 million possible playoff incentives
