I wouldn't say you are a bad fan at all as it can be painful. I am different with it and will watch the game to the bitter end no matter how bad it is. A bad loss doesn't make me stop watching football for the day either.

Call it what you will but I have turned games off out of anger. Its rare but I've done it and I think it's always against the Colts. Back in 07 and 08 they just demolished Baltimore and I couldn't take anymore of Manning dropping bombs on the secondary. They were scoring at will and I knew it wouldn't stop.

I've done that with the Packers during bad seasons. I usually am in the house cleaning, laundry, etc. Might as well get things done and when you hear something exciting, pop back in. No sense beating yourself up and then being so pissed you don't do anything the rest of the day. I did a lot of that with the Brewers this year. I'd watch the first 5 innings and then start to do something because there was a 75% chance that they'd blow the back half of the game anyway. That way, I'd check in, see that they blew it, say go figure and continue whatever I was doing. Made it much easier to deal with.

 Another little addition here as well

Also, I love how Packer fans just start screaming fire everyone. Here's my response to a friend that was jumping on the fire McCarthy Thompson wagon.

Thompson took over a mess and has done a great job putting them in position to win. McCarthy doesn't know clock management to save his rear. They should have run the ball a ton more, but the dropsies were awful. I think there were 7 or 8... Driver alone had 4. The defense played good enough to win... 13 pts? However, at the end of the game, they could have managed the clock a ton better and not rely on a 53 yarder to win it. Get it around 40ish... they lost 7 seconds and then decided to call a to? Also, you can't dominate the way they have and not put up points right off the bat. They continue to let teams hang around because they can't stomp on someone's throat. Its like they just assume that with the talent they have, that they can turn it up whenever they need to. Lame. Also, there is no sense picking up a rb anyway. They could have Walter Payton back there and they'd still throw it 50 times a game. I understand that is your philosophy, but you NEED to make half time adjustments and realize that you were averaging almost 5 yards a carry EXCLUDING the big run. Half time adjustments are non existent and are why the Packers can't follow through in the 2nd half. McCarthy is a great offensive mind, but continues to stick to the original game plan which doesn't work when the other team makes changes at half. I think he does a very good job preparing the team, just doesn't adjust... did I mention that? FFS.

The backups played pretty good though and it appears that the whole league is topsy turvy with no one really dominating except for maybe a few AFC teams that seem to be ahead of the pack (no pun intended) right now like the Ravens, Jets, and Steelers. The schedule gets rougher here down the road, but there's still nice signs that they can win. Also, don't forget they were playing without Jolly, Barnett, Burnett, Bigby, Chillar and Harris on D, not to mention that Matthews was out in the 4th quarter as well... and Jenkins is playing with a club.

p.s. Favre also used to send me lewd photos.

My tossing of hat and jersey routine has stopped this year. I used to watch downstairs on my own and not be with my family all day. But now I watch in the living room and we have snack type of foods all day. I have been really trying to curb myself on certain things with my kids upstairs with me.

I've always been decent around the kids. I get worked up, but don't swear. I must say that my youngest still flinches when I yell, but she's used to it. We actually all have Packer gear we get into and are going to make a routine of going down the street to the sub/pizza shop and pick up game time snacks and such. However, after losing this week I have to switch my Packer gear as part of my apparel superstition that the same outfit can only be worn week after week if winning. The attire needs to be switched after losses.

Anyone know the rules on uniforms? The Skins have been wearing Burgandy w/Gold pants this season at home. They wore white pants, and I thought it might be becuase GB's yellow pants.

I do this exact same thing and right before the game I went to get my "throw" hat and couldn't find it. I was running around the house like a madman from floor to floor and could not find it anywhere. I looked for 10 minutes and was literally almost out of breath when wife said:
Her - did you check the laundry basket?
me - why would it be in the laundry basket?
her - i don't know, why not?
me - i dont put my hats in the laundry basket
her - just check
me - (run upstairs) thanks honey its in the laundry basket.

My Boldin jersey was the unfortunate victim of the Bengals loss so now I can't wear it until they lose three more times.

And Mike - I agree that they need to see who daddy is from a young age.

There is a rule regarding jerseys and the third variation (2 or 3 times a year i believe) but I don't think there is anything regulating pants.

Thats a great question. Maybe because you see other fans that act worse than you and you can channel their anger?
