What are you currently reading?

This is my third Erik Larson book and I am enjoying it as I have his others. In the Garden of Beasts is Larson's non-fiction chronicle based on the lives of the Dodds, an American family who spent time in Berlin as Hitler rose to power. It vividly captures and describes the time period and the unfolding of the brutal violence that eventually overtook Germany. At the time, William Dodd was our ambassador to Germany and he is portrayed as naive at best; totally unsuitable to the position at worst. This is a great read, even if you are not normally drawn to non-fiction.

was posting from my phone sorry

I love the book, I am at the point where it's basically at the end of where the TV series ended this year and the details make it SO much better. I have the second one already, and I cannot wait to get started on it.

I have the latest Ben Mezrich book, "Sex on the Moon" for the summertime beach/pool read. I haven't started it yet, but it's seems to be one of those "I have no intention on using my brain at all while I'm reading this and drinking Corona's at the pool, so make with the funny drama" type books. I mean, his books get optioned into movies before they even get printed, so I doubt it's going to be a tremendous, life-changing literary work. I shall keep you posted.

I did just finish reading Patton Oswalt's book, "Zombie Spaceship Wasteland", which was hilarious and weird. Part autobiography, part comedic farce. I enjoyed the autobiographical portions far more than comedic "bits". His writing definitely speaks to my inner nerd/outcast child though. I definitely recommend it.

I like to write my own stuff, then read it. I definately have times of utter brilliance but all to often I find that those moments are lost in a quagmire of dispassion and blunder that leaves me feeling neglected and unfulfilled as a reader when the first exciting moments of acheivement wear off and all I have left is my own self inflicted boredom. I aslo have a problem with run on sentances.
