It depends on your phone. The best way to check the quality of your phones audio output is with a good set of headphones. Most phones sound quality blows through the built in speaker.

I try not to turn the volume up too high on my phone when running it into my car stereo, because you don't want to give the amp any higher of an input signal than necessary.
