UPDATE: ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter reports that the two sides now both expect Lewis to stay in Cincy, a fairly shocking turn of events. Furthermore, the team and the coach are expected to iron out any differences over the next 24 hours.

Bingo. The replacement for Fisher might not do any better, but to be able to get to the playoffs, but never finish shouldn't be enough, unless you're the Eagles.

Yep, news conference scheduled in 30 mins. NO WAY IN HELL that Mike Brown agreed to ANYTHING that is going to cost him money. One thing you learn as a Bengals fan is that the team doesn't belong to the fans, or the city. It belongs to The Family.

Yeah I doubt he agreed to fund a new facility just to keep him. I have zero idea why Lewis went back.

I hope you guys will watch the press conference video. I'll warn you that it's 27 minutes of your life you'll never get back but it's a nice illustration of what sort of ownership we deal with in this city and why we'll never win while Mike Brown lives. They wouldn't even say how long the deal was for. WTF? You can't tell us how long the coach's contract is? This guy makes Drew Rosenhaus look Chatty Cathy.

This is all you need to know. I would like to thank Mr. Brown for ensuring the Ravens at least a second place division finish for years to come.
Brown said there won't be changes in the scouting department -- the NFL's smallest -- or other front-office operations. He also said that a covered practice facility isn't an immediate priority. The Bengals are the only northern team without one either completed or planned.

The Bengals have the right to cover one of the practice fields next to Paul Brown Stadium, but would have to pay for it. Instead, the Bengals got on buses and went to a soccer facility to practice for their playoff game against the Jets last season.

"Marvin has a desire to have a practice facility," Brown said. "I have a desire, but probably not as keen. That doesn't mean I don't have a desire to do it. The timing is important. Right now, we're faced with major issues in the National Football League and those are at the front of our agenda. When we get through that, then we'll have time to consider the issue."

You are in a division with two of the best teams in the NFL. You know what they have? They have top notch scouts who rarely miss on draft picks and free agents. They also two of the BEST indoor facilities for their players in the NFL. You know what that got them in the last decade, three Super Bowl titles for the AFC North. I know he's a dumbass but how can you sit at your desk seeing what Baltimore and Pittsburgh do to maintain success and not try to mirror???

I seriously don't get why Cable was fired, he really had them on the right path it seemed and now players are flat out calling Al out.

8-8 isn't that great I know but they competed for the division and swept the divisional games including a win in KC to end the season...how does that get a guy fired?

Thank God for Al, we needed some hope.

I don't think Cable should have been let go but have heard about how much Al loves Hue Jackson. I think Al pulled the trigger once the 49ers asked for permission to interview Jackson for their vacancy.
