Pretty soon I hope we hear "__________" is the new coach of the Canes.

I sat there with my mouth hanging open during the Sabres game. He should have been escorted from the arena and into his car never to return. This sums it up:
Hunter is a legend, his number hanging from the arena rafters. He's the dream coach for every Capitals fan that wanted someone to break down the locker room door, put boots to asses and have the players respect the sweater. He'll get support, leeway and the benefit of the doubt in a way someone like Kirk Muller or Michel Therrien couldn't.

Still trying to confirm but Maurice was fired this morning as Canes coach and rumor has it they grabbed former Habs assistant coach (and blast from the past) Kirk Muller.

Only in the NHL can a coach get fired like Bruce Boudreau and then instantly get another job when the Ducks can their coach. Hockey seems to have the worst job security in sports.

And Dale Hunter will not be back next season. Sounds like it is his choice and he wants to go back to coaching Ottawa in the OHL.
