Pre-ordering games from Amazon

For those of you have pre-ordered games on Amazon, do you get them on the release date, or does Amazon wait until the release date to ship (meaning you get the game a couple of days later than if you bought it at the store)?

There have been a couple of titles that haven't shipped until their release date, which meant I got them 2 days later. However, Amazon is good about marking if the game will be on your doorstep on the release date. If it's a major title (Halo, BF, COD, Gears, etc), they will offer release date delivery.

I have yet to pre-order a game on there and not have it on my door on release date

I always get them on release day but unfortunately it's been as late as 8 p.m. that they've been delivered.

Again, same as rabb. Every game I've pre-ordered has been there on release day. However, when it gets there depends on the delivery driver. For me, it's usually between 11am-2pm. Though one time it wasn't delivered until 5:30pm

I think only WWE 13 wasn't delivered on release date out of the amazon orders I made last year. But, it didn't even offer release date shipping for that listing. I only had Prime 2 day, and the normal options available. It still shipped the day before release, but I got it the day after release, rather than the release date.

While they are mainly release day, I have always seen it listed if of it is. Some games don't have that specifically listed.

That's just because they press those on demand rather than package up a bunch of them that nobody will ever buy.

I think they've made a slight change at least for Prime members on release day shipping. When I pre ordered Halo 4, it said under prime 2 day shipping that I'd get it on release day. It doesn't show just release day shipping any more. However, for shits and giggles, I checked on pre ordering NCAA. Where it used to offer release day shipping for free on the day before (until mid afternoon), now I have to get one day shipping to get it on release day. Two day now shows you get it the day after release. Weird how 2 day showed it would be delivered on the release day until this weekend.
