Battlefield BC2 Lag?

I haven't played this game online in a while. I was just surfing the internet to see why Onslaught mode wasn't released yet and found everyone complaining about how bad lag has been for the past few weeks. Have any of you played it lately? Is the lag really that bad?

I have been playing over the last week and the lag has been horrible. This was in rush mode, I couldn't use a sniper rifle without constant missed shots. The lag was bad enough that it is hard to even walk/run around the maps.

That sucks. The game was great, hopefully they get the lag issue fixed.

I don't know how far back you go with the Battlefield series, but this is an issue every time they have an update or DLC...back to Modern Combat on the original Xbox

I've been reading up on this. Apparently you can "fix" the lag by switching your EA profile to the UK.

All the comments are along the lines of "it's a huge difference" "no lag" "night and day difference"

this is not directed at you YEMster, but that is stupid and makes no sense...you mean in the game you do this?

I guess I can see it making you use other servers, but it still seems stupid

I'm assuming it's in game. I don't know first hand but the BF forums (1000+ posts) are all talking about it...... and all the US people are claiming it works.

I can see since it is dedicated servers, and not LIVE servers, switching countries would put you on the UK servers. IDK, maybe someone can try it and confirm/deny

yeah I could see that then, it would have to be in game somehow or linking it online makes the game think you are in the UK

Played for quite a while yesterday and lag is noticeably down.
Also a heads up, I downloaded the new DLC for onslaught mode and ran through it on hardcore in less than a hour an a half with three other randoms. It can be challenging and fun at times but overall fairly easy with a good team, I do not really see the replayability. It is more similar to t-hunt in my eyes than horde mode in gears. So 800 points for about two hours is not all that worth it IMO.

Crap...already paid for and downloaded it. Just haven't played it yet. 10 bucks for two hours isn't that great. I need to get on and try it out.

Nope. Dice has said if it were up to them the DLC would always be free. Unfortunately it's up to EA and EA wants MOAR $$$
