Tiger 11 and EA b.s.

Postby Lambshot23 » June 18th, 2010, 8:44 am

Not sure that if anyone is playing this but I picked up this week and noticed some things that drive me crazy when dealing with EA.
- With Tiger 11 you have to have a online pass to be able to play anything multiplayer. Well if you purchase a NEW copy you automatically get one. But what about the guys who gamefly, rent or buy used? ($9.99 for a pass) There is a free week pass but still, what a joke.
- Not sure if you guys got the invite but by spamming everyone on my friends list to download the demo, EA gave me over 2000xp(towards my golfers attributes or towards the pro shop). I'm not sure if this annoys me or if it is just a clever ploy to get gamers to "innocently" spread the word about their games while giving them free xp.

Other than that I like the game, they got rid of that stupid training with Tiger's caddie or coach(whatever he was). I also like the fact that you choose what attributes you want to rank up , if you have a shitty round they do not take away from your attributes. The focus meter is cool also, anything you do other than swing takes away from it. As a guy that always powered up shots, put spin on the ball and use putt preview, I now have to pick and choose wisely as to when I will use it. If you do not use it, it gains focus. I have not had a chance yet to play online but seems very similar to past years except they now have some 12 vs 12 tourneys and ryder cup( I believe).

How "fun" is the actual gameplay? Is it cumbersome, or is it pretty intuitive? I have been on the fence with this one. I think it might be fun to do an "online tour" with, but I am not sure if I want to spend $60 on this game.

So far the game is fun, you can jump right in and make decent shots. I only played for a few hours but the game seems like it is less technical than last year. Last years game punished you for miss hits. With Tiger 11 I feel like I was always hitting the ball straight even though it did not look that way with the thumbstick. It could have been because my guys stats are so low and I do not have very good clubs.
