I have been bitching for a few games that Ben Hamilton was completely destroying the offensive line and finally the coach saw the same thing. Actually I am no prophet here, I think everyone saw that there was a need for some changes.
I love Ben Hamilton and will always respect how he used to play but now that Denver has shied away from the zone blocking days of old, he is just not getting it done. From blown assignments to terrible penalties, coach McDaniels announced in his presser yesterday that they will be starting Russ Hochstein at guard in place of Ben Hamilton. Hochstein joined the team this past year from New England and can play many positions on the line. Against Pittsburgh Monday night, he lined up at tight end a few times.
Love ya’ Ben, but this was inevitable buddy.
