This is some of the crap I’ve been hearing from “fans” since the Broncos were humiliated by the Ravens:
“I told you Orton sucks”, “See, they can’t beat anyone physical”, “We need Shanahan to come back and run the offense”, “McDaniels is just too cocky”.
My reply: Are you freaking kidding me?! The Broncos have lost ONE game. It was a bad loss yes, but it was still only ONE. The Broncos are still 6-1, still leading the division by two full games, and still have one of the best records in the league. I will admit that I am a little worried that the Broncos were exposed in the second half of Sunday’s debacle, but I’m not going to simply give up on the season. And I sure as hell can’t imagine this loss sitting well with McDaniels, who absolutely HATES losing. I can imagine just how hard he is working this week to prepare for the Steelers. As if this loss wasn’t enough of a motivation, we also have the Superbowl winners coming to town. McD is probably getting an hour of sleep a night preparing for this game.
So to all these fair-weather fans who are just looking for a reason to insult the Broncos, take a step back and look at the whole picture first. There has only been one undefeated team to win the Superbowl, so looking at it from a positive standpoint our chances just went up.

Totally agree with your assessment. I read practically all the posts each day in the evenings following work and have to laugh sometimes how fickle many of our fans are. I’ve been a fan since the Craig Morton days and have stuck with my team – good times or bad. When Shanny was fired and we lost Cutler, I was shocked. However, it didnt’ take long for me to realize that this change might be what the Dr. ordered (less than 30 minutes). While I wasn’t a big fan of Orton, I was at least willing to give him a chance because, let’s face it, I think McDaniels was on to something regarding Cutler. He has all the talent in the world, but I think I was even questioning his leadership and mental prowess of the game. I think many overreacted, didn’t pay attention to the offseason acquisitions and McDaniels ability to communicate with his team – which Shanny had unfortunately lost.
Now lets go beat the Steelers!
