With training camp a week away the Denver Broncos have signed 5 of their 2008 draft class with FB Peyton Hillis out of Arkansas being the most recent. Last week the Broncos inked RB Ryan Torain out of Arizona State, DT Carlton Powell out of Virginia Tech and LB Spencer Larsen out of Arizona. In June, Safety Josh Barrett out of Arizona State was the first rookie that was signed.
I have no doubt that the Broncos will work out contract agreements with the remaining rookies from the 2008 draft. Historically that has not ever been much of an issue. Personally I am very optimistic about this year’s crop of rookies from top to bottom. I think that aside from the players that are likely to have an immediate impact like OT Ryan Clady and KR/PR/WR Eddie Royal, the Broncos have some terrific young role players that will contribute in one way or another over the next year.
Training camp for the Broncos will be held at their Dove Valley Headquarters from July 25th through August 12th. It is open to the general public and free of charge to attend. For more information check out the Denver Broncos Fan Information Site.
