Your Vehicle Needs A Helmet!

Posted By LT. Under Featured, Product Reviews, Tailgating

There are certain products that I file under “I really need that for a successful tailgate” and there are others where I say “people are going to drool over this so buy buy buy”, Smackhat is the latter in a major way.  I never knew my truck needed head protection but I guess we are never too old to learn.

SmackHat is simple yet head-turning.  It is a replica helmet fitted with extremely strong magnets that you attach to the top (or wherever you want) of your vehicle to show off your team pride.  I can personally attest that when driving with a helmet affixed to your roof, you are going to get looks and a lot of thumbs up.

At first glance you may be tempted to say there is no way this helmet is going to stay firmly planted on your vehicle going 65mph down the highway but you would be dead wrong.  I will admit I was slightly skeptical so to the road test it went.  I placed it front and center above my windshield on the roof.  I drove to work with the helmet attached while I hit speeds between 65-70mph.  When I didn’t see a 10 car pileup behind me due to a speeding projectile, I knew we had a winner.  The magnets held the helmet in the exact spot it was mounted, impressive in my book. Removal was a cinch, considering how strong the magnets are, it took little effort to remove it from my roof.  There is a thick rubber coating on each magnet to prevent any sort of scratching of your precious paint.

If you are looking for a unique gift for the sportsfan in your life, this is it.  I’ve been to many parking lots on gameday and haven’t seen helmets used like this so you’ll have the wow factor on your side.  They have a ton of NCAA teams covered and all of the NFL so check them out here.
