Keeping You Grounded with EZ Fan Feet

Posted By LT. Under Featured, Product Reviews, Tailgating

If a product solves one problem for our tailgating experience, it will most likely get a pat on the back from Tailgate365.  Now if that same product solves two problems, we get really excited no matter how small the issue.  EZ Fan Feet helps address two common yet very annoying problems with an item found in every parking lot on game day, the canopy.

EZ Fan Feet is a set of four hard plastic, football shaped canopy anchors that can be filled with sand to help keep your canopy on the ground.  They also provide an additional six inches of clearance off the ground.  On the surface these two “problems” may not seem to be much of a problem at all but if you’ve ever bumped your head or had to dive for a canopy that is trying to take flight, you should read on.

Each football is big enough to hold approximately ten pounds of sand.  Thanks to a newly constructed sandbox in my back yard, filling them was a cinch (and my kids won’t notice until the Spring).  Keep in mind this is ten pounds when you simply add the sand, this doesn’t account for packing it tight.

I love it when I can actually have a product I review solve a real world problem for an article.  This year at a very cold and windy Navy game, this came true.  Our setup has one or more canopies leaning up against a truck to shelter our TV and stereo system.  It doesn’t provide a great amount of flexibility so the common response is to move heavier items to the perimeter to anchor the legs to the ground.  Normally one leg is strapped to a keg handle, one to the truck and the outer legs to chairs that have to be used constantly to keep the canopy from flying like a kite.  As you can imagine, this is not an ideal setup.  An offshoot problem is that we have canopies in high traffic areas.  If you have spent any time tailgating you probably know that you don’t need to be 6’4” to bump your head on the side portions of the canopy.  Some units are unreasonably low which can be a real headache (yup I said it).

I was extremely happy I checked the forecast and decided to toss these bad boys in my truck because they made life much easier and allowed us newfound flexibility in our layout.  The installation is a breeze (can’t help myself), you simply drop the foot of the canopy over the shaft and attach it with a nut (included).  Tighten them down and you now have 40lbs of extra weight and enough additional clearance to save some foreheads.  My favorite part was once again the passersby who obviously suffer the same fate but weren’t lucky enough to have EZ Fan Feet.  You don’t have to worry about the beating they will take, these are built to last.

I definitely give this product a big ole Tailgate365 stamp of approval.  I’ve seen people try to come up with homemade remedies for these problems but none have the great look or simple setup as these do.  I want my setup to look at professional as possible and with EZ Fan Feet I get to keep doing that.  These are a must have for any tailgater and a make a great, practical gift.  Check them out here for more information.
