Let’s Talk Week 9

Posted By LT. Under Sports

Week 9 is upon us and as teams prepare for the second half of the season, we are presented with some big games.  Let’s break three of them down with the spread and maybe win you a little money.  You can find spreads most places online but to get more sports betting options, you really need to do your homework so be careful out  there.

Pittsburgh @ NY Giants (-3)

Tough tough game to pick because you never know which team will show up.  The Giants are getting the home edge but a very hot Pittsburgh team may be able to keep their rebound alive this week.  This game will come down to whoever makes the fewest mistakes and with a speedy Steelers receiving group vs a Giants secondary that gives up big plays, that may be the key.  The Steelers have injuries at key spots once again but that doesn’t seem to have slowed them one bit, especially at running back.  You have to like Eli’s chances if they are in the game late which they should be.

Prediction – NYG 27  Pittsburgh 24

Philadelphia @ New Orleans (-3)

If you look strictly at positional advantages, Philly should dominate this game on paper but as we know, that’s not where they are played.  This game will feature a Philly offense that can’t get out of its own way and a NO defense that would struggle to stop a high school team.  The Eagles have been reluctant to give LeSean McCoy a big workload but that is just what the doctor is ordering this week.  There is no reason Philly shouldn’t march up and down the field but mistakes could once again hinder that.  Philly should be stout on defense but teams have been finding ways to beat them, I don’t expect that to change this week.  Expect a big game from Darren Sproles and 2-3 TD’s for Brees.

Prediction – NO 35  Philadelphia 21

Miami @ Indianapolis (-2.5)

Who could have predicted that this match-up would showcase two potential playoff teams??  Whether we see Tannehill or Moore vs Luck, we get young quarterbacks who are playing well with effective running games.  If Luck can control the clock and slow the Dolphins down, the Colts have the home advantage and should come out on top.  Turnovers will be key for Indy (-10 this season) so if they want to lock up the W, they’ll need to hold on to the ball.

Prediction – Indy 28  Miami 24
