Not long ago, we were introduced to the fine folks at CountryGirl Cocktails who were looking to expand their presence in certain areas. As luck would have it, one of the areas is Colorado where yours truly lives, breathes and tailgates. CountryGirl was kind enough to send some product my way for a review and decided to sponsor my Denver Bronco tailgate parties for the rest of the season. ”Everyone loves a Country Girl” is their tag line, and we found this to be extremely true this past weekend as my Denver Broncos took on the New Orleans Saints (Broncos were favored, check out SportsBetting.ag for the latest odds this week). It is truly a match made in tailgating heaven since I happen to also own a Best of Times Bar. I mean seriously, a bar and cocktails in the parking lot? Win. What is so special about CountryGirl, you ask? These pre-mixed, 32 proof cocktails feature great taste with low calories in three different flavors. The drinks are ready to serve, literally just requiring a cup with some ice (both shaved and cubed work great) and less hassle, making them a perfect addition to any party or tailgating event! The three flavors are Margarita, Lemonade and Peach Sweet Tea. And fellas’, let me tell you…if you want to have a more attractive and diverse crowd on game day in the parking lot, these are a must. That said, these were also very popular with the men as well. I noticed that the Peach Sweet Tea was a real hit with the guys as well as the gals.
We sampled all of these flavors and found that they were all outstanding and very tasty. Any time I see the words “low calorie” I cringe a bit and think it also means “low flavor”. This was not the case whatsoever with these fine cocktails. Just for reference, we poured them over ice in most cases but also had a beer tower set up with an ice tube in the center to keep the drinks chilled (Margaritas pictured below in said beer tower). One tip I was given from the folks at CountryGirl was to stick a bottle of the Margarita in the freezer for about 40 – 50 minutes (depending on the bottle size) and it creates a satisfying slushy drink!
