Introducing Southern Comfort Bold Black Cherry

Posted By LT. Under Featured, Grub and Booze, Liquor/Spirits, Mixed Drinks

Once again Southern Comfort is mixing it up to add a new flavor to the stable.  Last time we chatted I reviewed their Fiery Pepper collaboration with Tabasco and loved it.  It was a great mix of heat and sweet that I use frequently to give my friends a kick.  Now they are going after cherry lovers with Bold Black Cherry.

I need to say, you better really love cherry if you plan to dig into the bottle straight.  The flavor is super sweet and a depending on your tastes, may be a little too heavy to enjoy on the rocks.  This is a liquor best suited for mixing into cherry creations of which there are many.  With the SoCo brand being available nearly everywhere, it shouldn’t be hard to request a few new variations from your local drink slinger.

The most obvious pairing here is SoCo and cola.  I gave this combo a trial run, it mixed really well with Coke Zero to provide a Cherry Coke with a kick.  This is a pairing I could see really taking off to oppose other liquor and Coke combinations.  Don’t get boxed in though, there are many other ways to enjoy it.

Southern Comfort Bold Black Cherry will be available across the United States as well as the United Kingdom and Ireland. Each bottle will be 70 proof with a suggested retail price of $16.99 for a 750ml bottle.
