Logitech Wireless Speaker Adapter (Bluetooth) Review

Posted By LT. Under Featured, Gadgets, Geek Stuff, Music

I love simple devices that cure simple problems.  Most of us have smartphones all but implanted into our bodies so it only makes sense that we fill them with our favorite music.  The only issue is that the music is stuck on those devices unless you want to tether your phone (or tablet) to a mobile speaker system using a cable.  When I’m sitting on the deck relaxing or acting as impromptu DJ for my daughters in the basement, I want the ability to move around and now I’ve found it.

This little box from Logitech plugs into any powered speaker system or stereo receiver, allowing you to send a signal from your phone or tablet via Bluetooth.  The box sends the music to the speakers and voila…instant dance party.   The installation is a piece of cake, I was able to attach RCA cables (included) to the Logitech box and the 3.5mm stereo connector into the AUX port of my receiver.

The power adapter is a slimline horizontal design so it doesn’t take up much space in a crowded power environment.  The Bluetooth pairing was also simple, once enabled on my phone the connect button on the unit had them paired in seconds with crystal clear sound.

The range that I tested with was a home environment between 1 and 25 feet.  Obviously it works well when sitting next to a speaker but was just as strong when I moved it around the corner up a flight of steps.  I will need to see how far I can get once outside but for inside home use it’s range was perfect.

If you are looking to avoid the cost of an expensive wireless system, this is the box for you.  I plan to add at least one in house to cover a mobile speaker system in the backyard.
