New Music Releases October 11, 2011

Posted By LT. Under Featured, Leisure Time, Music

Another week and another handful of interesting album releases to dive into.  Bjork returns with what many critics are saying is her best work in years.  Considering she made a large chunk of the album with iPad apps, I think it warrants a listen, especially the first single Crystalline.

Ryan Adams returns to his signature sound after a brief stint in the heavy metal world.  He has Norah Jones backing him up so I have high hopes.  Joe Jonas get out of the shadow of the mouse to release his solo debut.

A release I never expected to see is Johnny Gill’s first studio album since 1996.  Any New Edition fans reading this are smiling right now.

Raise your hand if you knew Erasure was still together….good because I didn’t either.

Nick Swisher (yes from the Yankees) is releasing a kids album that will benefit his charity.  Madden fans hearing Five Finger Death Punch for the first time might want to pick up their latest to hear “Back for More” which was featured in the game.

What I’m Excited For: Evanescence

Seems that Amy Lee finally got guys to stick around to get an album finished.  This is actually the second go at it after the initial recordings were scrapped and Foo Fighters/Rush producer Nick Raskulinecz.  This release has huge shoes to fill if the band is going to try and relive the magic of “Fallen” which went platinum about 67 times.

The first single “What You Want”. What do you think?

That’s a heck of a lot of albums. I have some morbid desire to check out the Shatner album.

Also–Peter Gabriel is still around? I haven’t heard from him in a while. Or Erasure either.
