Below is the teaser trailer for next summer’s The Amazing Spider-Man. The reboot of the popular franchise that starred Tobey Maguire now features Andrew Garfield as the title character. The film also stars Martin Sheen, Denis Leary, Irrfan Kahn, Rhys Ifans, Emma Stone, and Sally Field. Marc Webb is the man in charge of the redo. Look for this July 3, 2012…in 3D! The incredibly plain teaser poster is also shown below. Trailer looks promising though…better than expected.

Wait..so they are going back to the beginning again? Really? Poor Uncle Ben, how many times does he need to die?
I find it a bit silly. They couldn’t write a good enough story with the current characters so they already chicken out with a ‘reboot’. Way to mail it in guys.
I guess I’m gonna have to look into this movie because I find it very disappointing but maybe my assumptions are wrong.
Yeah, it’s another origin story. This goes back even further…when Peter was a small boy. The problem here is that all of the Tobey Maguire films are still so fresh in everyone’s mind that this new reboot is going to suffer a lot from the ‘been there, done that’ issues. Obviously, this is going to be a darker Spider-man film than Sam Raimi’s and I don’t think that is a bad thing. Andrew Garfield is ok as Peter Parker, but people need to understand he is going to be nothing like Maguire. This appears to be a more ‘serious’ film…more dramatic. The 3D is going to be great though…that’s for sure.
I think the cast is great, and I will love it to be a darker tone. I would be totally on board with it if they just didn’t have to go all the way back to the origin. They could have easily just continued on with a different cast you know? I really think they just got lazy and couldn’t come up with a good enough new story. I just read that the Vulture was going to be the villain. Really, the Vulture? No wonder they canceled that project!
WELL THIS MOVIE LOOKS LIKE ITS GOING DOWN THE TOILET. THE WEB COMING OUT OF HIS NECK, REALLY.
I love the Spiderman character, but the preview did nothing for me. I was hoping to be excited to see after the preview.
