Don't Tailgate In The Dark

Posted By LT. Under Featured, Gadgets, Geek Stuff, Product Reviews, Tailgating

We’ve all been there, you come out after the game and want to get things fired up again until traffic dies down.  That means digging through your stuff trying to find utensils and whatever else you need to have a little post-game fun.  That also means you need some sort of light source.  For some that can be camping lights or maybe the headlights on the truck, neither is all that efficient.

I recently stumbled across a product from Nokero which provides a solution that is not only a cost savings but environmentally friendly.  They’ve created a solar powered light bulb that you can hang anywhere as a light source.  The version I’ve been playing with is the N200

As you can see from the design, it works very well hung from a string or bungie cord.  I’ve even had it flipped over facing up and was very happy with the light output.

According to their website specs, the output you can expect is as follows:

It brings 6 hours of light per night on “low” and 2.5 hours of light per night on “high”,* but it can be charged for multiple days in a row to extend its lighting time.

The battery will last for 1.5 years, and can be replaced to keep the bulb lasting for years.

That’s not bad if you ask me.  It’s not the cheapest initial investment but when taking into account the price of any fuel source these days, it should pay for itself pretty quickly.  While not tailgating related, this should a life saver when the power goes out from Summer thunderstorms.

I know they didn’t intend for this to be used for tailgating but I will definitely have mine (and possibly a few more) on-hand for our late night activities.
