Tiger just can't catch a break

Posted By LT. Under Featured, Gaming, Geek Stuff, Nintendo, PC, Playstation, Xbox

After the summer he’s had at least he could see that bright, shining smile on the cover of his own video game right?  Looks like even EA is backing away a little and has removed him from the cover… OF HIS OWN GAME.  EA is claiming that the move wasn’t to distance the company from Tiger.  EA Sports president Peter Moore stood by the (ex) coverboy in a recent interview.

“If the insinuation is it’s a reflection of EA Sports backing away from its relationship that goes back literally 13 years with Tiger, that’s not the case whatsoever.  You shouldn’t read anything into the fact that Tiger’s not featured on the box art of that particular edition.  Tiger is right there on the PS3 version of the game with Move support, which was very good for us and Sony last year. We’ll continue that.”

Take from this what you will but the videos released so far look amazing with the game placing a big focus on The Masters.  Here are two flyovers:

San Antonio

Augusta

That is him on the cover in the background, in my opinion this wasn’t a Tiger thing…it was an effort to focus on Augusta which previously wasn’t in the game at all. It’s a pretty big deal to golf/game fans.

Augusta is king in golf and more important than any player past or present. Their entire marketing campaign is focused on the Masters which is the right move.
