Catwoman and Bane will be the villains in Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises
Warner Bros. Pictures announced today that Anne Hathaway has been cast as Selina Kyle (AKA Catwoman) in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises. She will be starring alongside Christian Bale, who returns in the title role of Bruce Wayne/Batman. Hathaway beat out several actresses for this coveted role and I, for one, can’t wait to see her spin on the famous character.
Tom Hardy will be Bane
In addition, Tom Hardy has been set to play Bane. Nolan said, “I am delighted to be working with Tom again and excited to watch him bring to life our new interpretation of one of Batman’s most formidable enemies.” Tom had a solid turn in Nolan’s blockbuster Inception and was actually the first new name attached to the third Batman film. Mr. Hardy was also in a little known critically acclaimed film called Bronson back in 2008. If you’ve seen this, you know that he’s more than capable of becoming a more than decent Bane. Check that film out…it’s actually pretty good.
Chris Nolan will direct the film from a screenplay he wrote with Jonathan Nolan, from a story by Chris and David S. Goyer. Chris will also co-produce the film. The film is slated for release on July 20, 2012.
Anne Hathaway to play Catwoman
judging by that photo…I’m happy with this decision! and plus, Hathaway is a good actress. Tom Hardy is going to amaze everyone as Bane! Trust me.
