TG365 NFL Power Rankings – Week 9

Posted By LT. Under Featured, Sports

The mighty have fallen!  Pittsburgh finally gives up the top spot to a surging Patriots team with a handful of big wins.  A shutout of the Jets puts the Packers back in the top ten and Atlanta barely holds on to a top five position.  Among the many big gainers of the week, the Redskins took a six point tumble heading into their bye week and a QB controversy.  Kansas City managed to stay in the top ten but have to face an Oakland team hellbent on making a playoff run.

1. New England Patriots (+1) – Randy who? (Lee)
2. Baltimore Ravens (+3) – Move up a few notches after a bye week and losses for both the Steelers and Jets – facing a Miami team they normally handle easily this Sunday (TJ)
3. Pittsburgh Steelers (-2) – FINALLY I can say you are not #1 anymore (Mike)
4. Indianapolis Colts (+2) – Big win against Texas.  Even with all their injuries you always have to fear Peyton Manning (Steve)
5. Atlanta Falcons (-1) – Still the best in the NFC and have a chance to lead their division after facing Tampa Bay this weekend (TJ)
6. New York Jets (-3) – The Packers may be good but you can’t get shut out at home after a bye week (Steve)
7. New Orleans Saints (+5) – HUGE win over Pittsburgh may get them heading back in the right direction (Lee)
8. New York Giants (-1) – The NFC keeps getting weaker and these Giants come off of a bye to face a Seattle squad that’s hard to figure out (TJ)
9. Green Bay Packers (+5) – Recorded the league’s first shutout last week and with Dallas next you may see a streak in the making (Lee)
10. Kansas City Chiefs (NC) – Who ever thought an upcoming game against the Chiefs and Raiders would matter?  (Steve)
11. Tennessee Titans (-3) – CJ isn’t the same in short yardage, but they seem to be winning regardless (Mike)
12. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+4) – They say they get no respect.  Beat Atlanta and you get it (Lee)
13. Philadelphia Eagles (+2) – Coming off a bye week only to get Indy.  Colts defense has the speed needed to possibly contain Vick (Lee)
14. Houston Texans (-5) – All that talent, and an up and down season to show for it (Mike)
15. Miami Dolphins (-4) – Beat a weary Cinci this past weekend, but facing a tough Raven team Sunday that they normally do not match up well against – the Dolphins really need this one (TJ)
16. Chicago Bears (+1) – During the bye did the OL learn how to block and Cutler learn to get rid of the ball?  (Steve)
17. Oakland Raiders (+5) – Moving up fast after beating the Seahawks easily – If they can upset the Chiefs this weekend, they will prove worthy of a top 15 ranking (TJ)
18. Jacksonville Jaguars (+3) – This is a team that is starting to roll, can they keep it up? (Mike)
19. Washington Redskins (-6) – McNabb hasn’t played well on 3rd down either.  Should Rex take all 3rd downs too Shanny?  (Steve)
20. St. Louis Rams (NC) – Going into their bye at .500 is a positive considering this team had no expectations going into the season (TJ)
21. San Diego Chargers (+4) – Another big day from Rivers took down the Titans.  Doesn’t get any easier against the Texans (Lee)
22. Seattle Seahawks (-4) – Ok, losses to Denver, Oakland, and St Louis…beaten Arizona, Chicago, and San Diego?  They should beat the Giants then, right? (TJ)
23. Arizona Cardinals (-4) – Pick a QB and roll with him already, anything else will end in tears (Mike)
24. Minnesota Vikings (-1)  – Overrated *clap, clap, clap, clap, clap* (Mike)
25. Detroit Lions (+4) – The Lions may be 2-5 but I wouldn’t want to play them.  They play hard and will give some teams fits (Steve)
26. Cincinnati Bengals (-2) – The reality shows and lack of preparation are killing this team (Lee)
27. Dallas Cowboys (-1) – Easily the most disappointing team of 2010 so far, and getting worse (Mike)
28. Denver Broncos (NC) – Since winning their first 6 under McDaniels last year, the Broncos are 4 – 14 dating back to last November (Steve)
29. San Francisco 49ers (+1) – Will the trip to London end up hurting the 49ers in the long run?  (Steve)
30. Cleveland Browns (-3) – Browns, hope you had a nice bye week – yet get the red hot Patriots your first week back (TJ)
31. Buffalo Bills (+1!!!!!!) – I really think they are a better team than their record reflects, but until they win…here they sit (Mike)
32. Carolina Panthers (-1) – The first team to allow Buffalo out of the basement…well done (Lee)
