TG365 NFL Power Rankings – Week 8

Posted By LT. Under Featured, Sports

This weeks NFL power rankings have the Steelers holding on to the top spot and Buffalo, well, you know.  It is really no surprise that the week’s biggest blowout caused the two biggest changes of the week with Oakland jumping six spots and Denver losing six.  For the first time in a long time, an NFC team breaks the top 5 as Atlanta moves ahead of Indy and Baltimore.  The Giants could quickly join them if they continue to punish teams the way they have been recently.

1. Pittsburgh Steelers (NC)- Miami was jobbed, but the Steelers keep their place at the top…ugh (Mike)
2. New England Patriots (+1) – Held off a scrappy San Diego offense to stay hot (Lee)
3. New York Jets (-1) – Well rested but did the bye week take away some of their momentum (Steve)
4. Atlanta Falcons (+3) – Put up a lot of points against Cincinnati, but gave up a lot too – still could be the best in the NFC when all said and done (TJ)
5. Baltimore Ravens (-1) – Squeezed out a victory in a game they should have easily won – still not making my Super Bowl pick look good (TJ)
6. Indianapolis Colts (-1) – The Colts are banged up and are facing a huge matchup against Texas this week (Steve)
7. New York Giants (+5) – The Giants are a top team in a weak NFC.  How many more QB’s will they take out?  (Steve)
8. Tennessee Titans (-2) – Kerry Collins led them to a win against Philly, wow (Mike)
9. Houston Texans (NC) – Huge rematch against Indy this week will tell us a lot about this team (Mike)
10. Kansas City Chiefs (+4) – Offense is firing on all cylanders right now, can be a very scary team when they put it all together (Lee)
11. Miami Dolphins (+4)- Yes they lost but this should have been a ‘W”.  Henne’s accuracy is a little off but still doing what needs to be done (Lee)
12. New Orleans Saints (-4) – I think Drew Brees made an enemy of a witch doctor somewhere.  Games like that will end a season quickly (Lee)
13. Washington Redskins (+3)- The Redskins win when McNabb plays poorly and lose when he plays well (Steve)
14. Green Bay Packers (-1) – Squaked out a close game against the Vikes, I just don’t think the Packers are what they should be (Mike)
15. Philadelphia Eagles (-5) – Losing bad to the Titans is just more proof of how sub-par the NFC is compared to the AFC – well at least the Cowboys are now out of their way (TJ)
16. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+1) – Now 4-2 when everyone thought they might be 0-6 – props to this young squad for being competitive each week (TJ)
17. Chicago Bears (-6) – Before every game Lovie spins Cutler in a circle 10 times on the top of a bat before the first snap (Lee)
18. Seattle Seahawks (+2) – Mr USC racks up another win out west.
19. Arizona Cardinals (NC) – The QB carousel will continue until morale improves (Mike)
20. St. Louis Rams (+1) – Tight loss to an improving TB squad, you can’t go scoreless for a half and expect to win.  Bradford doing the best he can with no-name receivers.
21. Jacksonville Jaguars (+2) – Has the potential to be better than .500 this season, but getting smacked around by the Chiefs shows that their defense has a long way to go (TJ)
22. Oakland Raiders (+6) – Die (Mike)
23. Minnesota Vikings (-5) – Overrated *clap clap clap clap clap* (Mike)
24. Cincinnati Bengals (NC) – Well Bengal fans at least Palmer played better (Steve)
25. San Diego Chargers (+1) – Horrible turnovers and a huge penalty at the end cost the Chargers a chance to recover their season (Steve)
26. Dallas Cowboys (-1) – Well Jerry, at least you can still watch the Super Bowl from your box (Lee)
27. Cleveland Browns (+3) – Who saw this win coming??  Huge win against the champs (Lee)
28. Denver Broncos (-6) – A normally competitive matchup against the Raiders ended being an ass whipping by an Oakland squad that’s quietly moving up in the rankings (TJ)
29. Detroit Lions (-2) – The Lions need Stafford back, and really needed the bye this past week (Mike)
30. San Francisco 49ers (-1) – Any loss is a bad loss, but losing to the Panthers is much worse – still looking like the 2nd biggest disappointment of the season…hello Dallas (TJ)
31. Carolina Panthers (NC) – They did beat a pathetic San Fran squad but I’m stil not seeing any positive things ahead for the Panthers  (TJ)
32. Buffalo Bills (NC) – My friends in Buffalo that may have been your best shot at winning a game this season (Steve)
