Denver added to their depth at he wide receiver position by acquiring free-agent Brandon Lloyd from the Chicago Bears today. Lloyd brings more veteran leadership to the team with 7 years of experience in the NFL with the 49ers, Redskins and Bears. Throughout his career Brandon has amassed 156 receptions for 2,253 yards and 15 touchdowns. He is a durable and reliable option at receiver and should make a nice addition to the team. Another plus to bringing him in is that he has experience with new Denver Broncos quarterback Kyle Orton whom he played with during the 2008 season in Chicago. The timing is impeccable for the acquisition given the recent news about Denver Bronco Brandon Marshall. I don’t think that the signing is related to the Marshall drama, but I am sure it will make for some interesting media fodder. Solid pickup by the Broncos.
